More! Pictures! (Seriously.)

98.365 18mm f5 1/400 ISO 200I consider myself lucky to have a life full of amazing women, and when I started this 365 project I thought about doing a series of portraits of some of the women I most value.  Since then I have done basically nothing to actualize that idea but recently my friend Krista said she needed some pictures for various professional and personal pursuits and asked if we could do a session.

So, you know I'm terrified of asking people to pose for me.  I haven't the foggiest notion of how to do it without feeling like a complete wank.  Luckily Krista just dove right in, so all I had to do was direct her to the light and she shone her beautiful eyes and smile right at me.

We did a variety of looks, from sweet to saucy to serious, and I think we got some really great shots she'll be able to use.  But I took this one just for myself.  Krista's smart and funny and a successful businesswoman, but when I see her I see the California girl at heart.  When you strip away all the trappings of adulthood, she is most at home with the sun on her shoulders.  Of all the ideas I had for our session yesterday, I knew I really wanted to put her right up against the sun and get a dreamy, hazy backlit picture of her.  It's not the kind of shot you put on your professional website.  But when I imagine Krista in her happy place, it looks something like this.

Cette photo dégage beaucoup de lumière et beaucoup de liberté. La confiance de Krista derrière l'objectif et la maîtrise de ton art photographique donne un résultat de grande qualité. La photo est terrible et superbe... Bravo!
